Hi! Today's blog is going to be about drinks students should be allowed to drink or not. Nowadays, people believe that school cafetirias should stop selling soft drinks and other high-sugar drinks. However, others think students should have a choice in what they drink. I am writing this blog because I want to share my own opinion about this. The most important fact about soft drinks I found on the health website is that there are not only many harmful effects of soda, but there are not even any positive benefits to outweigh them. It harms our teeth and a body in general, "drinking soda regularly causes plaque to build up on the teeth and can lead to cavities and gum disease". To my mind, students from the upper school should be able to make their own decisions in what they drink, as it is an essential part in everybody's life to become an independent adult. On the other hand, elementary and middle schoolers should not have a choice in what they drink. I think, their parents should decide for them. Parents will be able to evaluate all the cons and pros of high-sugar drinks for their children and make a decision. The school's soda fountain should require a special card, the one which will recognize a student and give him a choice of drinks he is allowed to drink. Have you ever thought about it? What if in the future, maybe in 100 years from now, all American schools will have such a machine. I hope the government will notice this blog and consider my ideas. What do you all think? Let me know!
